GovReg Troubleshooting Guide

One of the best attributes about the GovReg® is that they are extremely reliable and will stay on the set pressure very well. Although it is exceedingly rare to have issues with a GovReg®, there are a few things that can happen. The good news is that these are easy to troubleshoot and fix.

If your GovReg® is free flowing air from the holes in the side

If CO2 is leaking from these holes it almost certainly means that beer, soda, or some other sticky liquid has back-flowed into the regulator. With a conventional secondary regulator this can be a big issue and difficult to fix,but with the GovReg® it is very easy to fix this issue. The GovReg® can be disassembled, the parts boiled, O-rings lubed, and then reassembled. This sounds like a lot of steps, but it takes less than one minute to disassemble a GovReg® and about the same time to reassemble it; so this is a quick fix! Output pressure has changed

Check input pressure to make sure it is 10 PSI more than your set output pressure. If there is less than 10 PSI difference in supply pressure then your output pressure will be less consistent. For example, if you have the GovReg® output pressure adjusted to 11 PSI, you want your supply pressure from your primary regulator to be at least 21 PSI.
